1. Stay calm and assess
Immediate veterinary help is needed for: severe bleeding, breathing difficulties, unconsciousness, suspected poisoning, urinary blockage, birthing complications or swallowing foreign objects.
2. Find an emergency vet
- 24h emergency clinics — open around the clock (Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lausanne, Geneva).
- On-call service — vets reachable by phone outside office hours.

3. Prepare
- Bring vaccination records and medication list
- Prepare a transport carrier
- If poisoning suspected: bring the packaging
