Monitors bat roosts in public buildings. Oversees renovation work in buildings that host bat colonies. Offers advice to anyone who comes into contact with bats. Raises awareness among adults and children through excursions, lectures, classroom lessons, and outdoor activities about the needs of bats and their protection. The Bat Protection Center Ticino was established in 1989. For over 30 years, it has been dedicated to the protection of bats, their roosts, and biotopes, as required by law. It is a private organization integrated into the national program of the Swiss Coordination Center for the Study and Protection of Bats. It operates in close collaboration with the Office for Nature and Landscape and the Cantonal Museum of Natural History. It is supported by: Federal Office for the Environment, Office for Nature and Landscape, Pro Natura Ticino, WWF of Italian Switzerland, and numerous private individuals.
