Animal Protection Association Uri (TSVU) is an animal shelter in Silenen, Canton of Uri. ANIMAL PROTECTION ASSOCIATION URI ANIMAL CARE ADOPTION AND FOUND ANIMALS Welcome The Animal Protection Association Uri helps with all animal-related issues, finds good homes for abandoned and stray animals, and intervenes in animal welfare cases. As the official animal protection association in the Canton of Uri, we work with all authorities and private individuals involved in active animal protection. Together with the police, veterinary office, and veterinarians, we strive to conduct meaningful animal welfare work with foresight. We investigate all reports from the public that indicate poor animal husbandry or animal cruelty, and we are committed to finding and enforcing solutions in the interest of the animals. We collaborate with professional foster homes and aim to take in as many emergencies, stray, and abandoned animals as possible. Exotic species (snakes, lizards, fish, etc.) or wild animals require special care and are taken over by animal protection organizations specialized in the care of such animals. We offer advice on acquiring or keeping a pet to prevent inappropriate care due to lack of knowledge. We are also in contact with our neighboring sections to exchange experiences or assist in larger cases. Our umbrella organization, the Swiss Animal Protection STS, provides us with ongoing training in various areas (care of hedgehogs, meaningful cat activities, etc.), supports us with questions and issues related to animal protection law through consultations with a lawyer, and finances part of the neutering of farm and feral cats.
