Certified Instructors UCS-DIC DOG TRAINING The Monte Generoso Dog Club has been active in the field of dog breeding for 60 years. Its main goal is to provide comprehensive training for dog owners and their dogs of all breeds and ages. Starting with puppies at two months old (facing all the challenges that adapting to a new human environment brings) to older dogs with age-related issues, it organizes events, competitions, conferences, exhibitions, and publications, promotes friendly relationships among members, and fosters a sense of community. The new club headquarters is located at Via Sant'Apollonia 46 in Coldrerio and covers an area of approximately 12,000 m². The new, modern, and functional headquarters features a large multipurpose room, a bar, a kitchen, an office, and restrooms, as well as a large porch. The area for puppies, the two training areas, the dog toilet, more than 80 parking spaces, and the recreational area for children are the facilities available in the outdoor area. The club consists of about 80 members, including 40 supporting members and 40 active members in various sports disciplines (Companion, Tracking, and Trailing work, Search & Rescue Dogs, Dummy Training - Retrievers of Group 8). During basic training and EDU plus, approximately 200 dogs of all breeds and ages are trained each year, including the 30 breeds that require a permit. Annually, in collaboration with the Cantonal Veterinary Office in Bellinzona, 11 cantonal examination days (about one per month) are held. On an examination day, about 10 to 12 teams are evaluated. The club has trained 15 UCS-DIC certified instructors, three of whom are also cantonal judges.
