Joëlle Gertsch Veterinarian and Osteopath for Animals Osteopathy is a manual medicine of first choice, for which no prior medical consultation is required. It views the body as a whole and aims to restore mobility to structures that are movement-restricted. This mobility allows for the harmonization and balance of the organism, which is essential for maintaining its self-regulatory and self-healing powers, and thus for its optimal function. The work is carried out using various techniques that are manipulative (so-called structural techniques), fluidic, energetic, or fascial. The choice of technique depends, of course, on the condition, but also on the age and character of our patient – manipulation is never performed against their will. Various techniques can and often will be applied in the same session. Contrary to what the name might suggest, osteopathy does not solely deal with bones, but with all systems of the body.
