Current information Antibiotic Information System in Veterinary Medicine (IS ABV) To combat the development and spread of antibiotic resistance, Parliament has decided to create an antibiotic database (IS-ABV Antibiotic Information System in Veterinary Medicine) for veterinary medicine. The aim of this data collection is to ensure the long-term effectiveness of antibiotics. Since October 1, 2019, we veterinarians must record and transmit the use and dispensing of antibiotics with details about the animal, diagnosis, method of administration, and dosage of the product in this database. The associated administrative effort must be charged to the clients according to the BLV (Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, www.blv.admin.ch) and will be listed on the invoice as "IS-ABV administrative effort."
